Scientific and Practical Seminar «Legal and Organizational Framework for Interaction between the Prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus in Pre-trial Proceedings in Criminal Cases» (April 5-6, 2023)
On April 5, 2023, the Scientific and Practical Seminar «Legal and Organizational Framework for Interaction between the Prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus in Pre-trial Proceedings in Criminal Cases» was held at the Institute for Retraining and Qualification Upgrading of Judges, Prosecutors and Legal Professionals at the Belarusian State University (IPPK). The event was organized by the Institute together with the Institute for Qualification Upgrading and Retraining of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for groups of trainees in the framework of a bilateral Cooperation Agreement.
Participants of the seminar were addressed by a welcoming speech of director of IPPK Oksana Zdrok and director of the Institute of the Investigative Committee Yury Kamenetsky.
The event was attended by representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and other national experts. There were considered following topical issues: forms and methods of prosecutorial supervision over the implementation of legislation; interaction of the prosecutor with investigative units; shortcomings of the preliminary investigation revealed during the trial, etc.
A lively discussion was held, moderated by Lyudmila Zaytseva, head of the Department of Prosecution Activities of the IPPK, and Sergei Tishuk Professor at the Institute of the Investigative Committee.
The second day of the seminar was organized in the Institute of the Investigative Committee. There were studied issues of investigation of crimes committed with use of high technologies; information technology in investigative activities; organization of procedural control over the work of the investigator. A cultural program was organized.
