The Institute delegation visited the excavation site of the mass grave of genocide victims in the Uruchye tract

On June 7, 2024, the Director of the Institute, Professor Oksana Zdrok, and the Institute staff visited the Uruchye tract near Minsk, where the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus is excavating the site of the mass extermination of civilians and prisoners of war as part of the investigation of the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war years.

Representatives of the Institute's staff laid flowers at the obelisk "Mass Grave", erected at the burial site of 30 thousand Soviet prisoners of war, partisans and civilians, shot and tortured by the Nazi invaders in 1941-1943.

Preserving the historical memory of the heroism of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War makes it possible to understand the value of life and a peaceful sky above our heads and to prevent the repetition of tragic events in the future.
